Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about getting started with Questarr, connecting your stack, and keeping your library organized.
Questarr is an open-source game library manager and discovery tool inspired by the *Arr ecosystem (Sonarr, Radarr...) and similar precursors such as GamezServer. It helps you track, discover, and organize your video game collection in one place, with automation for search and downloads through your existing torrent and Usenet stack.
Questarr connects to IGDB as a metadata source and allows you to add games to your library. If you have indexers and downloaders configured, it will automatically detect if a download is available, and optionally download it. It also allows synchronization with your Steam wishlist and showing your custom RSS feeds. Once a download completes, if you have it enabled, post-processing rules move or extract files into your organized library paths. Notifications keep you informed through the app or via Apprise.
Yes. Questarr is released under the GPL-3.0 license and runs entirely on your own hardware or server. There is no cloud dependency (even the fonts are local), subscription, or forced telemetry. You control your data, your indexers, and your library.
Go to Settings > Indexers and add your Prowlarr instance or standalone Torznab/Newznab indexers. Questarr can sync directly with Prowlarr to pull your configured indexers automatically. For G4u.to, enter the URL and credentials provided in your account on their site (G4U API is accessible only to their VIP members).
Library paths use configurable tokens such as {gameTitle}, {releaseYear}, and {platform}. In Settings > Paths, set your root library folder and choose how completed downloads should be moved or extracted. Post-processing applies these rules automatically after each successful download.
Questarr supports qBittorrent, Transmission, rTorrent, Deluge, Synology Download Station, SABnzbd, and NZBGet. Configure your clients under Settings > Downloaders and assign priorities to control routing.
Yes, Questarr ships as a Docker image at ghcr.io/doezer/questarr:latest. A single docker run command gets you started, and a full Docker Compose example is available in the documentation for persistent data, optional native SSL...
